Walked through New Church Farm housing estate and towards the Mike Cumiskey concrete artworks alongside Railway Road. We discussed with Richard his interest in this architecture, how politically it could exist, what were the social reasons for a new town? What hopes and benefits did this type of modernist design bring to Skelmersdale?
